A summary of the Longhaus self-directed study of open source solutions within the Queensland Government in order to assess public sector attitudes towards adoption and usage. Between February and March 2007 Longhaus approached a sample of 110 ICT decision makers who made or directly influenced ICT decisions. Of the 110 decision makers approached by Longhaus 21 responded directly to the study.
Longhaus recently presented a series of trends and opportunities to a group of Australian and New Zealand Business Partners for a large multi-national vendor. A member of the audience asked the following question: "Does Longhaus have a view on Grid Computing in Australia including adoption rate, business impact etc?"
Longhaus believe that there is a lack of local research insight into the role of the Architect and the application of Enterprise Architecture and associated practices in modern Australian business. Longhaus Enterprise Architecture Panel was created to provide deep insights into this aspect of the Australian market.
Increasing interest in semantic web will drive a subsequent increase in information management related projects in 2007. A Longview subscriber posed the question: "Are you seeing specific compliance and document management anywhere?"
